One of my favorite things about the Fashion Blogger Spotlight is finding new bloggers to follow and to introduce to you all! I just love seeing the variety of personal styles among plus size bloggers, and it’s always amazing to find people whose personal style and/or body type meshes with your own.
So, I hope you feel as inspired by this feature as I always do! Last week, we met up with Ashley of Rules to Life, and this week, we are featuring Bianca of Curvaceously Bee. Bianca shares her personal style and fashion tips, fitness advice, shopping roundups and more. She favors feminine, curve-hugging silhouettes that show off her waist and pear shape, and she is a plus size blogger YOU NEED TO KNOW!!!
Meet Plus Size Blogger, Bianca of Curvaceously Bee!!
Blog: Curvaceously Bee
Location: Memphis, Tennessee
How long have you been blogging? It will be 3 years in January.
What or who inspired you to become a fashion blogger? What led you to it?
I became a fashion blogger because at the time there were not a lot of bloggers who were shaped like me. They were either apple shaped or hourglass, so I am happy to represent as a pear shaped woman.
Do you blog full-time, for fun, as a hobby? Share your evolution!
I blog part-time. Blogging is my creative outlet. I would love to blog full-time in the future but right now I am a Quality Control Assistant by day and an MBA student with a concentration in Project Management by night. I will say that blogging has allowed me to break out of my comfort zone in more ways than one.
What is your favorite asset? Your legs, arms, waist? How do you play that up?
My favorite asset is my waist. When trying different silhouettes, I always find a way to cinch my waist. I will say that a good body con dress is always an easy way to showcase my waist.
What are the challenges, if any, you face regarding being plus size?
About 4 years ago, I would have said finding good clothing options, but since then plus size fashion has changed for the better. At the moment I am focusing on embracing my curves while also trying to live a healthier lifestyle. I have always been active, and now I am taking it seriously.
What’s your favorite thing about being plus size?
My favorite thing about being plus size is simply being plus size. I love that every time I post a new blog post I show people that I am confident, I am stylish, and that I am sexy. It’s important for people to know that not all plus size women are waiting for their happy, as seen on television, some of us are living our happy right now, at this moment.
What’s your favorite thing about being a blogger?
My favorite thing about being a blogger is being fashionably creative on my own terms. I am able to create series/themes of fashion trends I want to showcase as well as challenging myself to try new things. If someone would have told me I would be wearing a camouflage jacket with leopard heels, I would not have believed it!
Describe your personal style.
My personal style is girly girl. I love wearing comfy jackets with form fitting dresses or mixing prints because it just feels right. I will say that I create grids for a lot of my pieces and don’t try them on until the day I shoot blog pics. Most times, everything works out.
Which bloggers inspire you? Plus or straight size! Any bloggers currently on your radar?
Kim of Naturally Fashionable and Pepper of PrettyPlusPep both inspire me. I love seeing them both rocks their personal style while staying true to their core values.
What do you think about where plus size fashion is today versus a few years back?
Plus size fashion is changing for the better. Plus size women are so vocal about style options or lack thereof, and it is empowering. I love reading other blogs and getting honest reviews of things because it not only saves me money, but I also feel like the message will be relayed to the company to fix the issue.
Years back, there were not as many plus size bloggers as there is now, and I take joy in going into store buying something and giving my style notes as part of my blog post. Plus size fashion has evolved and the cool thing is that it’s still evolving.
What do you think or hear from readers, is one of the biggest myths about plus size fashion?
I often receive emails from women stating that they can’t wear certain things because it won’t look good on their shape. I always say “yes you can.” Wear what you want!
Are you working on anything or have anything to share? Anything else you want The Curvy Fashionista’s readers to know?
I am a new Brand Ambassador for Rebdolls and AmiClubwear. Also, check out my Fall series “Send Me Neutrals;” so far I have featured olive, brown, and black. Also, be sure to check my Instagram @curvaceouslybee for the next color.
Lastly, what does Curvy.Confident.Chic mean to you?
To me it means to embrace the body you have while being happy and stylish on your terms.
