DESCRIPTION:The Gordita Y Bonita Community Plus Size Clothing Swap is back and we are making space\, making friends\, and making fashion accessible. \n\n\n\nThis is more than a clothing swap. It is a safe space rooted in fat liberation\, anti capitalism\, Queer and BiPOC centered community care. It is where plus size baddies come together to reclaim style\, smash systems of oppression\, and leave with cute clothes for free. \n\n\n\nIf you wear a size 14 or XL and up\, this space was created with you in mind. \n\n\n\nLocation details will be emailed the morning of the swap. To receive the address\, be sure to subscribe to the email list when you RSVP. \n\n\n\nFree street parking available. \n\n\n\nHow It Works\n\n\n\nClean out your closet and bring gently used pieces that no longer serve you. Think elevated\, loved\, and ready for their next life. \n\n\n\n• Bring up to 40 items maximum• Shoes\, bags\, and jewelry must be placed in clear ziplock bags• Drop your items on the designated tables• Browse and take what you love. No tickets. No points. No permission needed• You do not have to bring clothes in order to take clothes• Take as many pieces as you want \n\n\n\nAll remaining clothing will be donated to nonprofit thrift stores to keep the cycle of community care going. \n\n\n\nWhat Not to Bring\n\n\n\nWe are building abundance\, not clutter. This is the first of what promises to be many intentional convenings uplifting fat QTBIPOC experiences and imagination. \n\n\n\nThe night invites guests into an intimate journey of storytelling and poetry with featured artists Devon Devine\, aja lenae\, and Joanna Villegas\, whose work explores tenderness\, survival\, pleasure\, and power through a fat liberation lens. \n\n\n\nAn altar will be present in honor of our fat ancestors. Guests are invited to bring a small offering to recognize those who taught us how to live unapologetically\, those who were denied the chance to feel beloved in their bodies\, and those who dreamed of the liberation we continue to build. This collective remembrance grounds the evening in gratitude and lineage. \n\n\n\nFor those ready to share their own magic\, an open mic creates space for community voices to rise.
