Have you been thinking and reflecting on the New Year and your resolutions? If you wanted to make them or how you were going to achieve the goals that you have for yourself, both personal and professional? We’ve been thinking, why NOT toss out the resolutions list and aim for a theme?
And it seems that I am not alone with this thinking! The Huffington Post shares:
“The theme should be a word that resonates with you and embodies something that has been missing from your daily life. Instead of defining specific behaviors that you want to do, you simply keep your theme in mind and allow your days to unfold from there.
This can be a very refreshing way to approach a New Year, especially for those of us who are tired of making the same resolution every year.”
You see, as we’ve been thinking about phrases, messages, and things that call out to us, a certain theme emerged, screamed at us rather, and we’ve decided that instead of writing a list of resolutions, to try something new to bring about new results, right?
We found this article about this, and this quote stood out:
“What’s nice about a single theme is that it’s easy to implement, simple to remember, achievable and sustainable. It’s just one thing.”
So we picked a theme!
My 2019 New Year Theme is:
Be bold enough to use your voice, brave enough to listen to your heart, and strong enough to live the life you have always imagined. … Anonymous
Yes. In every facet of my life, I don’t just want to do something, but I want to apply or attack it with a fierce confidence or without fear. I want to be brave and bold in all avenues, and I cannot do that without owning it and being BOLDER in my choices, actions, and decisions.
I have thrived this far, and have settled into myself with a bit more confidence and self-assuredness. Along with all of the events, goals, and ideas I will tackle for 2019, the only way that to achieve any goal is through changing one’s mindset, owning it, and being bolder in their actions, right?
This past year has been one of restructure, next level thinking, and Big Hairy Audacious Goal setting. I faced fears and braved them, but being the Virgo perfectionist, I knew that I could have done more and have executed some of my goals a bit better.
So, as I have various goals that I would love to accomplish, with a theme, it is a constant daily, weekly, and monthly reminder and a change of my mindset that will help those goals be a bit more attainable!
Be bold, proclaim it everywhere: They only live who dare.” ― Voltaire
Have you had success with your resolutions of years past? Does a theme speak out to you?
I would love to hear your thoughts and ideas and as you spend tonight with your loved ones and friends, bringing in the New Year!
What is YOUR 2019 THEME?
Happy New Year!
