Plus size blogger Gabi of Young, Fat, & Fabulous is the first MTV TJ!

No stranger to the plus size fashion community, plus size fatshion blogger, Gabi of Young, Fat, & Fabulous snagged one of most coveted Twitter jobs:

Gabi is the first MTV TJ (twitter jockey)!

On the stage for the finale, rocking the uber glam earrings by Fennimas, available at Monif C., Gabi was neck and neck for the win and eeked out, thanks to the Curvy Community’s Twitter family!

MTV just got a little bit fresher. Gabi Gregg, who goes by @gabifresh on Twitter, was crowned MTV’s first-ever Twitter Jockey at the live finale of  “Follow Me: The Search for the First MTV TJ” on Sunday night (August 8).

The 24-year-old Detroit native and plus-size-fashion blogger was one of 20 contestants chosen by MTV, in partnership with ZYNC from American Express, to compete for a $100,000 contract to be the social-media face of MTV.

Throughout the first round of challenges, Gabi’s eye for style and gregarious charm catapulted her to more than 5,000 Twitter followers and nabbed her the highest number of votes on the ZYNC by American Express Facebook hub.

Only five of the original contestants made it to the live finale in New York City, and Gabi, rocking a little black dress on the sparkly stage at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, continued her winning streak to top the popular vote during every elimination round. Moments after it was revealed that Gabi nabbed the throne, the @MTVTJ account was transferred to her possession, and she tweeted her first official message: “Ommmmmgggggg thank you to everyone.”

This win is huge not only for Gabi, but for the entire community. Gabi brings visibility to the plus size fashion space in ways that we have longed for! This is just so exciting!
