Hey girl, so we’ve got some great plus size fashion news for you! If you have been looking for a place to shop all of your contemporary plus size fashion needs, then keep reading! Joining the ranks of plus size shopping and lifestyle sites like 11 Honore, navabi, and Full Beauty is the JUST LAUNCHED brand, CoEdition.com!
CoEdition is an online contemporary boutique for us curvy fashionistas, in sizes 10 up through a 26. Think Stuart Weitzman, Rachel Roy, Splendid and more, exclusively in plus sizes! CoEdition continues to curate the best in plus size fashion. They look to give us options in apparel, intimates, active, swim, accessories, and shoes! And by the end of 2018, CoEdition plans to have over 150 contemporary fashion brands, that cater to the plus size shopper!
Let’s process this for a second: over one hundred and fifty fly fashion brands waiting to grace your curves. Yes.
“The majority of American women are size 10 or higher,” says Brooke Cundiff, co-founder and Chief Merchandising Officer. “Yet traditional retailers don’t cater to them. They limit their selection and push their offerings into a corner of the women’s floor or bury it at the bottom of their web page. Fashion has been too exclusionary for too long. We want to change this, starting now. CoEdition is truly inclusive. CoEdition celebrates this powerful community of women. We have listened to them. We know what they want. These women — and a wealth of smart style choices for them — are put front and center.”
All of the yes’s.
Have you guys ever shopped or perused Gilt?
CoEdition was founded by four former Gilt executives to serve the savvy, style-conscious, curvy women. We dig how the founders have acknowledged that the plus size fashion community is underserved. Let’s face it. While the plus size industry has come a long way, we still have so much room to grow!
If you are not familiar with the difference in contemporary plus size fashion, let us give you a taste of what to expect. “It was for the junior growing up who didn’t feel comfortable in neither junior clothes or her mother’s clothes” explains Kalman Ruttenstein. Ruttenstein is the senior vice president for fashion direction at Bloomingdales.
This segment focuses on the fashion forward options and edge. This segment usually targets the 20-30+ aged woman. She has more body conscious fits, daring silhouettes, and bold statements. These contemporary pieces run, on average, somewhere between $150 to $800 depending on the item.
What We Love
So with CoEdition, they fall right in line with this segment! With average price points for CoEdition finds around $150, your pockets won’t be entirely empty, especially with some creative budgeting. *wink wink* Ohhhh and guess what? They ship internationally, too!
One of the things that we really love about CoEdition is that it is influencer driven, as far as what’s being carried in the online boutique. Seriously, how many times have you looked at something Marie has worn or featured and thought “Oh man, I wish she could just dress me!!!” If you’re me, this is a daily occurence and now CoEdition is making this a possibility!
Not only does this offer so many possibilities for fellow fashionistas, but this is a great opportunity for the smaller, indie designers as well. CoEdition won’t just be letting the bigger brands in–all dope plus size fashion designers are welcome!
*shameless plug* CoEdition should really be checking for Marie to have her own hand-picked line–just saying!
You can shop the site, now at CoEdition.com!
We’ve swung through the website and if their Spring collection is a preview of what’s to come, we’re pretty excited about what CoEdition has to offer! This should also be very interesting to see how the rest of the retailers like Nordstrom, Macy’s, Eloquii, and even Lane Bryant will react to this brand shaking things up a bit!
We are here for this… because this just means more options for us!
So what spring looks are you loving?
