Meet Laura of Oh Wize One!!
Location: Cincinnati, OH
How long have you been blogging? 1 year
What or who inspired you to become a fashion blogger? What led you to it?
I was first inspired by Gabifresh, I honestly didn’t know 6 years ago how powerful blogging can actually be. I gravitated to Gabi’s style and her honesty.
Do you blog full-time, for fun, as a hobby? Share your evolution!
I am not a full time blogger, but I don’t blog as a hobby. I think when creatives dedicate time to an interest, it’s considered a hobby. You never know when your part time interest can turn into a career, so I like to say that blogging is my side hustle.
What is your favorite asset? Your legs, arms, waist? How do you play that up?
I love to play up my long legs. I enjoy playing with different pant leg styles to accentuate my long inseam. I can’t stop buying wide leg trousers and flare leg jeans.
What are the challenges, if any, you face regarding being plus size?
My challenge is that I am apple shaped. It is so hard when you are plus size and not evenly proportioned. Since I carry all my weight in my mid section people are quick to tell me that I am not plus size but it’s just not true. I wear a size 16 and have a full F cup. It’s always a challenge to find clothes that fit me on the top and the bottom.
What’s your favorite thing about being plus size?
I don’t have a favorite thing about being plus. I love who I am period. My body is a part of who I am. I give myself grace and try to stay healthy. It’s that simple. You have to love yourself unconditionally first, your body is just a bonus.
What’s your favorite thing about being a blogger?
My favorite thing about blogging is writing and sharing my voice. I love fashion, and I want to convey that having timeless style is feasible for all women. Embracing your personal style is like good housekeeping, it needs to be done!
Who/what are your favorite designers/brands?
One of my favorite designers/brands are Michael Kors. He is hands down my favorite sportswear designer. I adore ordering from Boohoo. They always exceed my expectations. Torrid, Simply Be, and Asos are also my standby brands.
Describe your personal style.
My personal style is sexy, classic, and quirky. I always throw in an unexpected quirky element; it keeps people guessing.
Which bloggers inspire you? Plus or straight size! Any bloggers currently on your radar?
Gabifresh, FeednClotheMe, Miss Kris, and Miss Louie What do you think about where plus size fashion is today versus a few years back?
I think plus size fashion has made progress and in other areas not so much. I want to be able to shop in store so badly.
Lastly, what does Curvy.Confident.Chic mean to you?
Curvy, Confident, Chic to me means that your curves empower your confidence to always remain chic.
