“Uncompromising, unapologetic, and timeless. Go-to pieces designed to last. A movement by us, for us.” Beth Ditto

So let me tell you… When news of Beth Ditto’s collection first broke, we were all hyped, especially as she announced her news with a special edition tee collaboration with Jean Paul Gaultier! Well today, we are hyped to share with you that the collection is NOW LIVE and we have the lookbook and an exclusive chit chat with Beth Ditto!

The Beth Ditto Spring Collection on TheCurvyFashionista.comTo say that I was beyond geeked, was an understatement. I could not stop smiling all day, after wrapping up the interview! Down to earth, playful, and passionate, Beth Ditto set out to do a collection, without the safety net of another brand, as she did with Evans years back. This collection is all her. All her own, all of her style, inspiration, and desires!

On one of her most proud points of her collection?

“My collection is all Made in America! All of it and it is so relieving! I will shop anywhere, from Walmart to Neiman Marcus… but what matters most to me is that it is ethically made… Made ethically in the USA as a small company with no big corporate input.”

“We did this on our own- no investors and it is so much harder… You have Geek Junky, Chubby Cartwheels, and Ready to Stare… who are doing it and we wanted to do it too!”

“Modern Edge! I wanted the things you could not find anywhere else. What was missing for me was interesting shape!”

When designing her collection, she gushed about how this was reflective of pieces that were missing for her, in her closet and in the stores. Shapes and silhouettes that she could not readily shop for. She exclaims, “I just wish I had this ONE thing, oh and COMFORT!”

“I wanted things that were fashion forward but that also transcended trends. In three years, I want to be able to wear it again. I love the idea of starting a revolution in plus size fashion by transcending trends. I really do think that is what is missing in plus size fashion.”

When I asked her about her hero pieces of the collection, she could not choose one! She loved her bubble black dress, but then popped over to her pink print. Overall, it was the shapes of her collection that intrigued and excited her so! But her ultimate favorite? She rested on her black lame jumpsuit. And I have to agree!
