So, Saturday I had a grand ol time celebrating my TCFTurns5 blog anniversary party! Turning Five years is kind of a major deal and I had to turn it up a lil bit! So with the help of my title/presenting sponsor, Sonsee Woman (get familiar!) and quite a few others, we partied it up at the VIP Lounge at Club Nokia!
Now, if you had been following me on my social media spots, finding something to wear became QUITE the challenge as my dress from NY never arrived, the backup to that- they never reserved as we asked, and some of the items I brought with me… weren’t OOMPH enough… EXCEPT for this number from DAMA TALYA!
My TCFTurns5 Party Look
A few weeks ago, I shared with you the fabulosity from new Louisiana Designer, Dama Talya and their collection. I was all geeked out over a few items- and guess what? THURSDAY before my event… TWO fancy items arrived and the timing could NOT HAVE BEEN BETTER. As Jenae shared with me, it was Kismet. She ran and snatched up a Lane Bryant Plunge Push Up Bra, so the girls could say hey girl, heyyy.

It fit soooo well!
I was hyped and the material was wayyyy different from a lot of items I have rocked! And I kind of really, really, really, liked it! We paired it (Jenae helped me!) with my Bakers (ZIGI Soho) Heels, and tons of rings and bracelets, and her UBER fab clutch that I am in love with.
As you can see, I got a whole new look for the New Year. I fashioned an interesting mix and colors to make this work… Thanks to Honey Crush Hair (more on the top) and Dernier Cri Hair (more on the bottom), I made this work. While I teased about color, the Voodoo Blue was way tooo green for my complexion and we darkened it to Indigo Blue! LOL Seen only as highlights and in the sun, I really love this… just enough oomph for me!
I wanted my hair to not have as much height as in the past, so we went for a longer length! 18, 16, and 14 inches were used here! But I wanted bangs, cause, well… I have a big forehead… LOL
Yo, I love Melissa Hibbert. She slays for the gods and on my face, she didn’t hold anything back and I love her for this. She beat my face last year and this year, she gave it again!
Flanking me in her Sheeq Cosmetics she glammed me out with C10 Flawless Liquid Foundation, emerald green smokey-eye from our Parisian Nights eye shadow palette and for my pout, she used Liaison lipstick.
And here is my complete look for the night with my red carpet host- Chenese Lewis!
Thanks to Pose Magazine as my Media Sponsor, and Merciful Photography for capturing the shots from the night! WOOT!
Stay tuned for a complete recap soon!
What do you think of my look? I felt very 70s ish and I kind of liked it!
