You know I must admit, along this blogging journey I have grown so much and in so many ways. And I owe a lot of it to YOU. YOU make me better.
As I approach the fifth year anniversary of my blog and plan my TCFTurns5 party details, I have been in a reflective place, recounting the ways I approach my blog, share information, and most importantly, how I view myself. I would be lying to you if I said I am always confident, secure, and self-assured in what I am doing.
Let me back up a little bit. I was at my mother’s house a few months ago and she said something that really sunk in and hit a GOOD spot. Something that made me realize JUST how much I have grown and have evolved as a woman. She said:
“You are much more calm nowadays and present”
She went on to say how I am not always attached to my phone, stressing out about my site, and calmer when things go awry on the site.
Not only my mother, but a fellow reader and blogger shared:
“Marie, I have noticed your style is much more edgier and bolder”
Interestingly enough, these two comments came to me back to back. And I welcomed these observations.
I know these two observations are also a result of my age and security in who I am as a woman, but this is also a result of YOU. You challenge me to step out of my OWN box, whether it be with fashion, my personal openness, or the structure and development of the site. YOU help me look at things from various points of view, ALLOW me to feel fulfilled, knowing that I have helped one or two of you see yourself as beautiful.
There are always moments of self-doubt, personal discovery, and days when I feel small and/or low. However, interacting with you, re-reading comments and suggestions about life, and laughing at your hilarious Facebook comments are what help me pick my pieces up.
Learning how to step back and relax, I hear some of your commands! I mean hey, I took my first real vacation in over seven years this year! WOOT!
And with all of this, I thank you. Thank you for making me a better woman, sister, daughter, and friend. Thank you for taking this journey with me and helping ME grow, my blog grow, and our community grow.
