Have you heard of Small Business Saturday?
In the midst of the craziness of Black Friday and Cyber Monday lies a day dedicated to supporting small businesses nationwide. Last year, over one hundred million people participated in Shop Small® in their communities on Small Business Saturday.
I have long been a fan of the small business. Partly because I am one, but more so for those who are dedicated to making an impact in their community, shopping Small Business Saturday is way that I feel I can give back! Small and local businesses have a special place in my heart. I love supporting emerging designers, retailers, and brands that are doing their thing!
What is Small Business Saturday?
It began in 2010 when American Express founded Small Business Saturday to help small businesses get more exposure during one of the biggest shopping weekends of the year. Last year, over 100 million people came out to shop at independently-owned small businesses on the day. Now, in its third year, Small Business Saturday will be even bigger. American Express is offering free and easy-to-use tools to help small businesses get the most out of the day and tools for consumers to show their support.
This year, Small Business Saturday is on November 24th! You are encouraged to shop small at your favorite local stores. When we all shop small, it will be huge!
Are you a Small Business Owner and want to be involved? You can register your business, here at Shop Small by American Express.
