Out and About: Brunch with Eden Bodyworks
This past Sunday, I was invited to attend a fabulous brunch with Eden Bodyworks. Knowing that my girls Patrice from Afrobella, Felicia from Loving Your Hair, and Cassidy from Natural Selection, were coming into town for this Los Angeles natural hair event, I HAD TO BE THERE.
And I am so happy I did!
When it comes to Eden Bodyworks, I had heard of the brand, was vaguely familiar, BUT I had NO IDEA how dope this event and the STORY behind the brand would be! First of all, let’s talk location. Held at the uber HUGE Westin Bonaventure, I was taken aback by the location and the setup.
As the ladies checked in, I snuck in early to meet the team and hug my girlfriends! (I am a hugger!) I snapped a few pictures and met the owner of the brand. Here is where it gets cooler: The founder of the brand started her business at the tender age of 13! YO. Impressed. 13! Jasmine Lawrence is still in college and doing the damn thing… can we say impressed?
Yes, girlfriend is FIYAH! So, brunch took off and the room filled in to the brim! Literally! It was so fabulous to see sooo many natural hair beauties in one place! IN LA! So, as brunch wrapped up, the panel was set up and the conversation ensued.
Questions about natural hair, dye, the journey and relationship had with our hair was led by Ylorie, the right hand woman to Jasmine! Dr. Kari Williams, Patrice, Felicia Leatherwood, and Cassidy shared stories, experiences, and laughs about their experiences and tips with their hair!
And then relationship expert, Paul C. Brunson came in and gave the male perspective on natural hair! He is a handsome one and quite charismatic! I enjoyed hearing his perspective as I have always wondered how men perceived hair!
My dear friend and fellow Curvy Fashionista, Kim Coles stopped by too! She gave her journey on hair, life and the love of it! She riddled us with laughter!
Overall, the event was quite a fabulous one in which I was full of smiles; saw my LA friends Chenese Lewis, Thembi, Britni Danielle, and even met new ones!
I invite you to check out EDEN BodyWorks, a natural hair care brand that “provides natural products that integrate wellness and beauty inspired by nature to restore and maintain the body’s original design.” I must add that this product is NOT JUST for natural hair. With no petroleum, mineral oils, or sodium sulfates, EDEN BodyWorks’ product lines strengthen and repair all hair textures – whether relaxed, natural, or somewhere in between.
