Back in the Day, When I was Young….

Sing along with me…

Back in the day, when I was young, I’m not a kid anymore, but some days I sit and wish I was a kid again…

Oftentimes, our personality as a child dictates our demeanor as an adult… Or I would like to think. I know when I was a little one, I was goofy, silly, and the center of attention. But hey- I was the first grandchild… so that seems about right?!

This past holiday weekend, we ended up at my nanna’s house for a family yard sale. I think I got a shade darker, but in our festivities, I stumbled upon a gem of a find: my mother’s cache of photos!  I mean old photos from when I was born, me running around naked with my hair uncombed, stylin and profilin… you name it and she had it!

I was so excited that I had to share these finds with you! I mean, it is only befitting, given what I do now that I show you these pictures! As a child, I suppose I was always camera ready. Case and Point?

Or THIS throwback!

Happy Easter my my little sister and I!

Or my Favorite, Yes? How may I help you?

It is a funny moment to see me, over 20+ years ago, but as I get older, I see that this Marie and the current Marie still is goofy, sarcastic, playful, and silly!

When looking at your old pictures, do you still see the same you? Can you relate?  What would you tell the younger you, if you could?

Random sidenote: This past weekend killed me. I am now going to lay back down and nurse my cold…

I definitely don’t see the same me. I look back at pictures and I think, “Why did I ever think I was fat?” I would definitely tell myself not to believe what others say about you,  don’t give up running, and take that job in Alaska.
