More than a Fashion Blogger… and that is okay
There are a few things you may or may not know about me.
- I am plus size
- I am African American
- I am a fabric snob
- I am a tech nerd
- Neo Soul music is my life, although I have my moments when I need to get crunk and grind out to my hip hop
- I am a make-up junkie
- I have an affinity for chocolate, but I do not snack
- Coffee is my fuel for life (Starbucks if ya nasty!)
- I speak Japanese (although now quite rusty)
- I was in the Girl Scouts for 8 years
- I never meet a stranger- although I am quite shy
- Outfit photos make me nervous- I don’t have a fancy camera yet and my style is a bit more laid back
Why do I share all of this?
You see, in conversations, talks, and observations people have voiced their opinions and thoughts about being pigeonholed into a specific category, stereotype, or group.
And I thought about this, actually this thought has been brewing in my mind for a while.
When I first started this blog, I wanted it to be full of resources for you to fashion your curves with. From there, my blog has evolved- thanks to your comments, feedback, and emails into a lifestyle blog: giving me the freedom to open up more with you about the very things that make us who we are.
While I won’t tell you what you should wear for your shape, the don’ts of plus size fashion, I WILL give you options, dare you to think outside your box, share excitement of new designers, and give you a peek at some of my favorite things- ALL WHILE providing YOU resources to put your best curve forward.
Reflections and Growth
I love how YOU have allowed me to share with you, challenge me to do better, be better in providing you with the very things I thought were just MY quirks. I mean the fact that you loved chatting about gummy B vitamins? Pure Elation for me! Worries about aging, life, and its idiosyncrasies? You have been right there.
I was terrified to share my first Outfit of the Day (OOTD) picture with you, and you were right there showing your support. My style is a bit sporadic I think- Boho Luxe, sometimes edgy, mostly laid back. I mean, YOU have encouraged me to continue to bare my legs! As I become more comfortable being in front of the camera, I want to give you more…
I am a bit all over the place with my thoughts rambling onto the blog and you accept me just how I am, and for that I am appreciative. The nerd in me wants to share with you my newest tech toy, The HTC Flyer Tablet- but I am not sure how you will respond or care. While I am a fashion blogger from a plus perspective, there are so many things that make ME who I am and help define ME as a plus size woman, blogger, fashion lover, makeup junkie, and more!
The point of me writing this is giving you a big THANK YOU.
Thank you for letting me be me, supporting, challenging, pushing, and sharing YOUR thoughts and feeling free to be YOU!
With all that being said, what do you want to hear more about, what questions do you have? This blog is not about me alone, it is about YOU as well! How long have YOU been reading? What are your favorite moments?
Oh! and P.S.
I want to give my little sister Krystee a HUGE Shout Out for the pics! Love you sister! She has started doing photography and it’s called IMOTO Photography!
