Sunday proved to be a fashionable night for the Fabulously Full Figured actresses and celebrities on the red carpet, as I shared over on Vogue Curvy, but what is even more fabulous, is the commentary of plus size on the red carpet and the analysis of their fashions!
Topping The Fashion Code’s best dressed, was not one, but three glamorous plus sized vixens! International fashion stylist twins, Ruth and Sara Levy noted, “Notice our last 3 picks for best dressed were full figured gals, which just goes to show you you don’t have to be model thin to dress great – you just need to know the fashion rules of the road.” In describing their favorites, they had this to share:
#3: “Queen Latifah gets a lifetime of “get out of jail free” cards for her gorgeous gown. Unlike some of the fashion outlaws of the evening, her satin dress was simple with the perfect amount of well positioned bling. You go girl!”
**** Gorgeous! I must agree. Every red carpet gown she has rocked over the last few years has been flawless! Get it Queen!
#4: Gabourey Sidibe The Best Actress nominee had a tough figure and pulled it off beautifully. Her tasteful blue beaded dress was as Precious as her amazing on-screen performance.”
**** Now amidst the Gabby Marchesa dress and stylist fiasco on the internet, lil mammas looked nice. Although she left me wanting more oomph for her, she worked it on the red carpet!
#5: “Oprah Winfrey was not only well spoken, but well-dressed. She looked streamlined and elegant in her midnight blue dress. The deep v-neck was figure flattering and her straight skirt followed the line of her body perfectly- no extra fabric or draping around her middle to make her look hippy. She made us want to pull her over and commend her great look.”
****I am still trying to find the photo for her!!!!
Not mentioned, but deserving respectable honorable mentions for their curves on the red carpet were both MoNique and Meryl Streep!
MoNique (Congrats Oscar Winner!) ascended to the red carpet in a Tadashi Shoji gown, laced in Chopard jewels. Although she had hinted at wearing her long-time designer duo friends, this leaves me to wonder if the last minute changes reflected the choice of dress?
Meryl Streep dazzled in an elegant white Chris March (Yes, from Project Runway) tuxedo gown. I am always a fan of this 16 time nominee, whenever she steps onto the red carpet!
Did you get a chance to catch the curves on the runway? Catch some of the intros and interviews of these fabulous curvaceous vixens doing their thing on the red carpet!
Did you enjoy? Were they some of your favorites? Let me know!!!
